“Covert Affairs” returns for its fourth season as CIA operative Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) and best friend/colleague Auggie Anderson (Christopher Gorham) are in the beginnings of a romantic relationship.

She lets him know about the top secret information given to her by the former head of the Department of Clandestine Services Henry Wilcox (Gregory Itzin) at the end of last season, and the surprising intel sends her on a trip to Colombia, with Auggie close behind.

CIA station chief Calder Michaels (Hill Harper) is soon encountered, as well as another new, intriguing character, Teo Braga (Manolo Cardona).

Annie and Auggie’s blossoming romance, which has been in the works for quite a while, is rewarding to see, and this new mission Annie has undertaken due to Wilcox starts the season off in an engaging way.

Season Four of “Covert Affairs,” which also stars Peter Gallagher and Kari Matchett, premieres at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, on USA Network.
