It’s been a big summer for Broncho.

The Tulsa/Norman punk band recently released this music video for “Psychiatrist,” one of the tracks from their 2011 debut “Can’t Get Past the Lips,” which ranked No. 5 on my all-Oklahoma list of the top 10 albums of that year. Last month, Fairfax Recordings gave the self-released album a national re-release.

Earlier this month, the band, fronted by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Ryan Lindsey (Starlight Mints), also was featured on NPR’s World Cafe, which you can hear by clicking here.

As previously reported, Broncho will play Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival set for Aug. 31-Sept. 2. The lineup also includes Heart, Death Cab for Cutie, fun., Kendrick Lamar, The Joy Formidable, Eric Burdon & The Animals, MGMT, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, The Breeders and more.

Good news for local fans, though: Before Bumbershoot, Broncho will perform at the two-day Opolis XI, the Norman venue’s 11th anniversary celebration set for Aug. 16-17. For more information, go to http://opolis.org.
