Brush pile burning near Broadway Extension

A controlled burn is underway between Harvey and Robinson avenues. Smoke can be seen in north Oklahoma City.

12:30 p.m. The Oklahoma City Fire Department was called to the scene of the brush fire after it began to spread outside its perimeter, fire officials said. The fire was contained.

10:30 a.m. Workers are burning brush Friday morning near Britton Road and Broadway Extension.

The fire is between Harvey and Robinson avenues west of Broadway Extension. Controlled burns were permitted Friday morning in Oklahoma City, fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland said.
