Inmate dies at Oklahoma State Penitentiary

About 4:20 p.m., the inmate was found unresponsive in the prison's “H” Unit and pronounced dead at the prison, warden's assistant Terry Crenshaw said.

An Oklahoma State Penitentiary inmate died Friday afternoon, authorities said.

His name was not released.

About 4:20 p.m., the inmate was found unresponsive in the prison's H Unit and pronounced dead at the prison, warden's assistant Terry Crenshaw said.

The man had a cellmate, Crenshaw said. H Unit at the maximum-security prison holds death row inmates, but also houses other prisoners.
