Eat, Live, Play Downtown OKC: Brawley Event Rentals

Kerry Myers Published: July 22, 2013

Brawley Rents, Inc. located at 1 NE 7th St., is a hidden gem in Oklahoma City that has been at his current location for 29 years. Open since 1950, Brawley is an event equipment rental who specializes in fun events like weddings, concerts, art shows, you name it. Last week I had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Kirk Brawley, whose father founded the business that he successfully runs today.

Brawley originally began as a durable medical equipment company, specializing in home healthcare. In 1985, Kirk made the decision to move over to the event and party rental business, wanting more direct contact with customers.

“We have a large inventory of tables and chairs, we can offer three to four thousand chairs at a time,” stated Brawley. They offer delivery, and have gone as far as Shawnee, Ada, and Ardmore. “Our delivery is one of the best buys in Oklahoma City. $45 within a ten mile radius of Oklahoma City. We work with a lot of our friends in Automobile Alley and Heritage Hills as well.”

The growth of Downtown Oklahoma City has been beneficial for Brawley Rents. “It’s incredible, it’s an incredible city it gives me goosebumps to be a part of it. Honestly I never envisioned the growth that has happened in this city in the past twenty years,” says Brawley. “The first MAPS project, I just really never thought it would develop they way that it has.” Brawley predicts unlimited  growth, hopefully to include more residential, schools, grocery stores, infrastructure to handle the income of people. “It’s just an exciting time in Oklahoma City, we are pleased and proud to be a part of it.”
