The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association released the preliminary 2013-14 ADM for classification purposes on Thursday, revealing what could be the new two divisions in Class 6A football.
The list can be found here, but is not official until it is approved at the next OSSAA board meeting on Aug. 14. The 2014-15 football districts won’t be announced until September.
Putnam City is the final school in 6A Division I with an ADM of 1733.66, just barely edging Lawton. Lawton’s ADM is 1733.00 Enid is just behind with an ADM of 1730.11.
In April, Class 6A voted in favor of a plan that splits the class into two separate divisions, each with its own postseason and own champion. The OSSAA board approved the changes, which take effect for the 2014 season.
Also, Douglass falls from Class 4A to Class 3A, while both Tuttle and Newcastle are moving to Class 4A from Class 3A. Claremore also moves into Class 6A, while Tulsa Edison falls to Class 5A.
The ADM also affects basketball and other sports this year.
If approved, Okarche, the defending Class A girls basketball champion, moves to Class B in basketball. Kingfisher also moves to Class 4A and Cashion moves to Class 2A.
Millwood also falls to Class 2A in basketball with an ADM of 226.43, down from the previous total of 269.65.
