I’ve mentioned previously on the blog about the date for ZooBrew V (Sept. 27), but there is another autumn beer-tasting event in Oklahoma City that you should have on your list as well.
That would be the 10th annual ARTonTAP hosted by the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. The event is set this year for 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 4.
Art museum event coordinator Michelle Lory said this year’s event will again feature the Stella Artois Beer Garden on the roof terrace, with live music from the group Born in November.
Lory said organizers are finalizing the beer and food lineup. Last year’s event featured more than 80 beers and food from several metro-area restaurants.
Tickets are $45 for museum members and $50 for non-members. They will go on sale Sept. 3, and can be had by going to the museum website, or by calling 236-3100, ext. 237. Tickets will not be sold the day of the event.
Lory said they will cap sales at roughly 750 tickets. This event typically sells out within a couple weeks at the most, so you’ll want to act quickly if you want to scoop up a spot.
-The weekly Monday McNellie’s pint nights for today are: Gulden Draak in Oklahoma City; Unibroue La Fin du Monde in Tulsa; and Tilburg Dutch Brown Ale in Norman.
-Speaking of McNellie’s, both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa pubs have announced dates for fall/Oktoberfest celebrations: Both of the annual Harvest Beer Festival in Tulsa and the Oktoberfest celebration in Oklahoma City are set for Sept. 21.
-And speaking of Oktoberfest, you should start seeing a flood of Oktobefest beers hitting the shelves in the next few weeks. In addition, we’re only one month away from the annual Choctaw Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Old Germany. The fest will start Aug. 30 and run through Sept. 7.
-Lastly, I had the chance to spend the day yesterday at Roughtail Brewing Co. for what can only be described as a Herculean effort to fill roughly 2,100 750 ml bottles with the new Hoptometrist Double IPA. I’ll have more on that coming up later this week, but I can tell you that this is a very well done beer. You should start to see it on liquor store shelves by the end of the week.
