Brad Pitt’s worldwide hit “World War Z” has been digitally remastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format and will be released into select IMAX theatres domestically for the first time for a one-week engagement beginning Friday.

AMC Quail Springs Mall 24 in Oklahoma City and the Moore Warren Theatre are among the movie houses that will be showing the blockbuster in IMAX 3D.

“World War Z” has grossed more than $460 million since its launch on June 21. The film has already played in select IMAX theatrers internationally, according to a news release

“World War Z” revolves around former United Nations investigator Gerry Lane (Shawnee-born superstar Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Directed by Marc Forster and based on Max Brooks’ novel, it co-stars Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale.
