Man killed by train in Grady County

Abbott Nelson, 80, of Amber, was killed Thursday when he was struck by a train, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Man killed by train in Grady County

A man died when he was struck by a train about 10:45 a.m. Thursday in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The patrol identified the man as Abbott Nelson, 80, of Amber.

The Union Pacific train driven by Charles Ray Bennett, 56, of Ninnekah, was traveling north, the patrol reported. Bennett told troopers he saw a man standing near the railroad tracks and, as the train approached, the man lay face down across the tracks, the patrol reported.
