Center fielder George Springer hit his 16th home run with the RedHawks in a 3-2 win over Albuquerque Friday night in front of 7,313 fans at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
For the season, Springer has slammed 34 homers, scored 97 runs, accumulated 99 RBIs and has stolen 38 bases with Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Oklahoma City.
There are only 17 games left in the regular season, but Springer still has an outside shot to become the first 40-40 player in the minors in 57 years. Springer should get the 40 steals but must average a homer every three games to reach 40 homers.
