The coaches and athletic directors of the future Class 6A Division I football districts seemed pleased with the split of their 16 teams into two districts for the 2014-15 seasons, determined Thursday morning.
Jenks, Broken Arrow, Norman, Yukon, Edmond Santa Fe, Edmond Memorial, Putnam City and Westmoore make up one district, with Tulsa Union, Owasso, Edmond North, Putnam City North, Norman North, Mustang, Southmoore and Moore in the other district.
The district splits allow for traditional early season rivalry games like Jenks-Union, the Moore War, Norman’s Crosstown Clash, Edlam and Yukon Mustang to remain during the non-district schedule.
The districts will not become official until approved by the OSSAA, likely in October.
