Berry Tramel and I don’t agree on who will win every game this week.
He’s got LSU. I’ve got TCU.
He’s got Clemson. I’ve got Georgia.
But here’s something we do agree on — Mississippi State simply won’t be able to keep up with Oklahoma State.
On this week’s “We Pick ‘Em” segment of Press Row, we talked about the Cowboys’ big opener, and as Berry so accurately pointed out, it’s doubtful that the Bulldogs will be able to keep up with the tempo that the Cowboys intend to throw at them. Even though SEC teams are starting to see the spread offense more — Texas A&M is not only waving the banner for the spread but also shaking it in SEC teams’ faces — it is still more of an exception than a rule. Being prepared for it is difficult.
And here’s the thing — OSU has been fast offensively since Dana Holgorsen arrived and instituted the no-huddle spread, but word out of Stillwater is that the Cowboys have never gone as fast as they’re going now.
Bad news, Bulldogs. Very bad news.
Berry’s prediction: OSU 38-27.
My prediction: OSU 38-23
