Record: 1-0, 0-0 in Big 12 Conference; coming off Saturday's 24-17 win over William & Mary.

Best player: Senior running back Charles Sims took advantage of the NCAA's graduate transfer rule last offseason and joined the Mountaineers after three strong seasons at Houston. He rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown in West Virginia's win Saturday.

Why West Virginia could beat OU: Last November, it looked like Oklahoma would easily rout the struggling Mountaineers, but coach Dana Holgorsen got creative and nearly pulled off a stunner.
