After a dominating effort against Mississippi State Saturday, the man in the middle of the Oklahoma State defense has earned an individual honor.
Middle linebacker Caleb Lavey was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 11 tackles (two for loss) and 0.5 sacks in the 21-3 win.
Lavey, now in his third season as a starter, was a key part of a defense that held the Bulldogs out of the end zone and allowed MSU to convert just two of 16 third-down attempts.
OSU next faces Texas-San Antonio at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Alamodome.
