STILLWATER — So far in the early season, Oklahoma State's usual suspects have been playmakers.

J.W. Walsh. Josh Stewart. Jeremy Smith. Shaun Lewis. Daytawion Lowe. Caleb Lavey.

But several new faces have also started to make an impact, whether it be transfers like Kip Smith and Brandon Garrett, redshirt freshmen like Jhajuan Seales and Emmanuel Ogbah or true freshmen ditching the redshirt season like Marcell Ateman and Ben Grogan.

Here's a breakdown of the OSU players who have seen their first action as Cowboys in the first two games.

True freshmen

Ben Grogan, kicker: Only field goal attempt so far, a 49-yarder against Mississippi State, was blocked. But he is a perfect 11-for-11 on extra points.

Marcell Ateman, wide receiver: Already becoming a physical option on the outside with five catches for 46 yards, including a 22-yarder against UTSA.

Deric Robertson, safety: Has 2.5 tackles on special teams and as a reserve defensive back.

Jordan Sterns, safety: Had 3.5 tackles in his debut against UTSA, playing on special teams and late in the game on defense.

Taylor Lewis, defensive back: Credited with a pass breakup against Mississippi State.

Rennie Childs, running back: Entered the UTSA game in the second half, getting one carry for four yards and one catch for negative-3 yards.

Transfers

Kip Smith, punter/kickoff specialist: Is averaging 42.9 yards per punt, with a long of 54 and six downed inside the 20-yard line. Of his 13 kickoffs, none have gone for touchbacks.
