Miranda Lambert and her trio Pistol Annies, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Thompson Square and Vince Gill are among the superstars with Oklahoma ties who will be competing for prizes during the 47th Annual CMA Awards.

Rocker-turned-country-newcomer Sheryl Crow and breakout duo Florida Georgia Line announced the nominees in the top categories today on “Good Morning America.” Checotah native Carrie Underwood and fellow superstar Brad Paisley will co-host the Country Music Association’s awards show for the sixth straight year.

Miranda Lambert, who lives in Tishomingo, received nominations for female vocalist of the year, single and video of the year for her raucous hit “Mama’s Broken Heart.” The Texas native is the reigning CMA female vocalist of the year.

Lambert’s smash “Mama’s Broken Heart” also earned a song of the year nod for songwriters Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Kacey Musgraves. (Musgraves received five other nominations, tying superstar Taylor Swift with a leading six nominations.)

Lambert’s trio Pistol Annies, which also includes Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, received their initial CMA Awards nominations in support of Lambert’s husband, Blake Shelton. The Tishomingo resident and the Annies were nominated for music video of the year (directed by Trey Fanjoy) and musical event of the year for his chart-topper “Boys ‘Round Here.”

In addition, Shelton’s 2013 album “Based on a True Story …,” produced by fellow Oklahoma native Scott Hendricks, is nominated for album of the year, while the Ada native received nods for male vocalist of the year as well as the top award, entertainer of the year. Shelton is the reigning male vocalist and entertainer of the year.

Underwood garnered three nominations, for female vocalist of the year; album of the year for “Blown Away” (produced by Mark Bright); and video of the year for “Blown Away.”

Thompson Square, which consists of Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and his wife Shawna, is nominated for duo of the year, a prize the couple won last year.

Norman-born and Oklahoma City-bred superstar Vince Gill and Kelly Clarkson are nominated for musical event of the year for their collaboration “Don’t Rush.”

The 47th Annual CMA Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 6 on the ABC Television Network.
