Quick guide to No. 8 McGuinness at No. 10 Tulsa Kelley

by Jacob Unruh Modified: September 13, 2013 at 2:05 pm •  Published: September 13, 2013

When:  7 p.m., Friday

Where: Bishop Kelley High School, Tulsa

Last week: Shawnee 14, McGuinness 7; Tulsa Kelley 31, Bartlesville 24

Players to watch: McGuinness — Jacob Lewis, QB. Last week Lewis played poorly, completing just 3 of 10 passes with four interceptions. If he doesn’t turn it around, the Irish will struggle mightily.

Tulsa Kelley — Thomas Bingham, RB. Last week Bingham rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown, but what kind of success will he have against McGuinness’ big defensive line?

Storylines: McGuinness — Was last week just an aberration? Many expect McGuinness to be a top-five team this season, but it didn’t look anywhere close. The turnaround should start up front with the big offensive line blocking for Lewis and Co.

Tulsa Kelley — Last week was a solid win for the Comets, but can they keep it up? The Irish will have a new determination this week and Lewis is likely to play better.

The pick: McGuinness 21, Tulsa Kelley 14
