Two people died in accidents on state roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Friday.

Robert Slinker, 29, of Tahlequah

Slinker was dead at the scene of a crash about 7:35 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 59 three miles north of Stilwell in Adair County

He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Starla Duncan, 36, of Stilwell. Duncan was taken to a Fayetteville, Ark., hospital where she was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg and trunk injuries.

Duncan was driving north on U.S. 59 when the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. Slinker wore a seat belt but Duncan did not, the patrol reported.

Unidentified pedestrian

A pedestrian jumped in front of tractor-trailer and was thrown into a ditch about 2:15 a.m. Friday on eastbound Interstate 40 in Caddo County, troopers said.

Driver Beverly Brown, 58, and passenger Cowboy Brown, 57, of Maplewood, Ohio, were not injured.

The pedestrian, of Moab, Utah, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name is being withheld until relatives are notified, troopers said.
