Fan poll: Vote for the city-area high school Football Player of the Week

It was a big week for quarterbacks across the Oklahoma City Metro, with five highlighting this week’s top six performances.

And now fans can vote for the one they feel was the best.

The weekly Oklahoma City-area Player of the Week fan poll is live.

Pick one of the selections from the poll below, or write in your own candidate in the comments section, where you can tell us why your choice deserves Player of the Week honors.

Voting ends at 4 p.m. Tuesday and the results of the poll will appear in Wednesday’s Oklahoman.

Here are the candidates:

Cameron Batson, Millwood: Threw three touchdown passes, rushed for two scores and intercepted a pass on defense in the Falcons’ 31-12 Soul Bowl victory over Douglass.

David Cornwell, Norman North: Threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Timberwolves to a 41-38 comeback victory against Del City.

Frankie Edwards, Mustang: Quarterback threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 178 and two more TDs as Mustang turned to its rushing attack in 41-28 victory against Putnam City North.

Justice Hansen, Edmond Santa Fe: Quarterback totaled 301 yards in the air, 114 on the ground and accounted for five touchdowns in season debut and Wolves’ 49-35 win against Yukon.

Jacob Overton, Minco: Rushed for 163 yards on 17 carries in first half during 43-0 upset of Wayne. Also returned a punt for touchdown and played both quarterback and receiver as well as normal running back position.

Caden Sander, Deer Creek: Quarterback/Safety threw three touchdowns and had an early interception on defense  in 41-21 rout of Shawnee. Totaled 254 yards through the air and 157 on the ground.
