Oklahoma State continues to inch its way to becoming a top-10 team, while Oklahoma’s spot in the Associated Press poll remained the same.

The Cowboys moved up to No. 11 in the AP poll after rolling 59-3 over Football Championship Subdivision opponent Lamar Saturday night at Boone Pickens Stadium. The Sooners, meanwhile, stayed at No. 14 in the poll following its comfortable 51-20 victory over Tulsa.

Both OSU and OU have a bye this week. The Cowboys then open Big 12 play at West Virginia on Sept. 28, while the Sooners travel to Notre Dame. The Irish dropped a spot in the AP poll after rallying to beat Purdue 31-24.

Other Big 12 teams ranked in the AP poll include Baylor at No. 20 and Texas Tech at No. 25. TCU, which lost to Tech in Lubbock Thursday night, dropped out of the poll.

The top five of the AP poll remained unchanged, with defending national champion Alabama keeping its No. 1 spot after its win at then-No. 6 Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide is followed by Oregon, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford. A&M dropped to No. 10 after the loss, while Michigan fell from No. 11 to No. 15 after needing a last-second stop to survive Akron, 28-24.
