Guide to Edlam: No. 4 Edmond Santa Fe at Edmond North

by Jacob Unruh Modified: September 20, 2013 at 11:05 am •  Published: September 20, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Wantland Stadium, Edmond

Records: Edmond Santa Fe 1-1; Edmond North 1-1

Last week: Edmond Santa Fe 49, Yukon 35; Edmond North 42, Choctaw 2

Players to watch: Edmond Santa Fe — Michael Onwuchuruba, DE. Onwuchuruba already has 12 tackles through two games and has consistently been in the backfield hitting the quarterback. If Edmond North can’t block him, it could be a long night offensively.

Edmond North — Dixon triplets. Edmond Santa Fe quarterback Justice Hansen was impressive in his season debut. How the triplets — Lance, Andrew and Joel — play will go a long way in slowing down Hansen and the Wolves’ offense.

Storylines: Edmond Santa Fe — After a stellar opening for the defense in a 3-0 loss against Midwest City, the Wolves’ defense looked shaky last week against Yukon. Edmond Santa Fe coach Lance Manning doesn’t want to see another shootout this week.

Edmond North — The Huskies couldn’t score in Week 1 and then couldn’t stop scoring last week against Choctaw. Edmond Santa Fe’s defense will be a tougher test, though, for quarterback Stephen McClernon and Co., even with last week’s issues against Yukon.

Bonus: Edmond Santa Fe running back Michael Farmer will face his former team. He has just six carries for 16 yards through two games.

The pick: Edmond Santa Fe 35, Edmond North 28
