Guide to Class 2A No. 2 Davis at Class 3A No. 4 Heritage Hall

by Jacob Unruh Modified: September 20, 2013 at 1:05 pm •  Published: September 20, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Pop Murray Field

Records: Davis 2-0; Heritage Hall 1-1

Last week: Davis 32, Sulphur 14; Clinton 39, Heritage Hall 6

Players to watch: Davis — Blake Summers, QB. Summers had three touchdowns of 55 yards or more last week against Sulphur, bringing a big-play ability the Chargers have to avoid.

Heritage Hall — Connor McGinnis, QB. The junior has completed 50 percent of his passes and thrown four TDs to date. He’ll need another big game for Heritage Hall to end non-district play on a positive note.

Storylines: Davis — The Wolves won this game 12-0 last season, putting on a powerful display of defense. They’ll need to do that again versus the Chargers’ new up-tempo offense.

Heritage Hall — Stop the run game. The Chargers allowed nearly 500 yards on the ground last week against Clinton. If that trend continues, it’ll be a long night.

The pick: Davis 21, Heritage Hall 20
