Belle Isle Brewing offers tour, tasting

by Nick Trougakos Published: September 26, 2013

Belle Isle Brewing is rolling out a neat new event tonight called Taste & Tour. The event will be held on the last Thursday of each month. Taste & Tour will give visitors a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the beer-making operation at Belle Isle and sample a special beer offered only during the tour.

Here’s some more information about Taste & Tour from Belle Isle:

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK –- Belle Isle Restaurant & Brewing Co. will present Taste & Tour the last Thursday of every month in the upstairs Brewpub (50 Penn Place, 1900 NW Expressway).  The first Taste & Tour will be September 26th at 6:00pm.  The evening will feature tours of the Brewery, tastings, and fellowship among beer enthusiasts.

Belle Isle Restaurant & Brewing Co. is excited about hosting these informative tours on a regular basis for the first time to the public in its 19 years of operation. Taste & Tour participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at a functioning brewpub, plus information about hand-crafted beers and the brewing process.

The $10 Taste & Tour ticket price includes a tour of the brewing facility, a Belle Isle pint lass to take home, two complementary handcrafted beers, and a special tasting of the Infused Beer of the Night.  Our beer’ologists will be infusing a Belle Isle beer with a complementing ingredient to create an original brew for that night only, i.e. infusing the Power Plant Porter with mocha beans or Wild Mary’s Hefeweizen with peach and cinnamon.

“With the growing enthusiasm around craft beer, and more specifically your local breweries, we thought it was the perfect time to open up the brewing facility to both our loyal fans and beer lovers in general,” assistant brewer Jack McDonald said. “A lot of our brewing friends are doing some really cool things to advance the local craft beer culture, but to our knowledge no one is giving tours of their brewing facility. We’re very excited to be an active part in the local beer renaissance.”
