The Oklahoman's Class 2A rankings: A week full of blowouts

by Scott Wright Published: September 30, 2013

The top 10 teams in Class 2A all did their part to affirm their positions in the poll last Friday.

The closest game for any of the 10 was Millwood’s 40-22 win over OKC Legion, a non-district game in which Millwood led 40-0 after three quarters.

The blowout trend won’t continue, with Nowata and Adair set to square off in a game that will put the winner in the district driver’s seat.

Hennessey defeated Tulsa NOAH in a non-district game, despite losing its starting quarterback to a torn ACL the week before, which could be a good confidence booster for the Eagles as they go forward into more meaningful games.

And there are still some other teams on the outside looking in, waiting for their chance to jump into the rankings. Chisholm, Meeker and Hugo are all undefeated, and Luther is coming off a big win over Dibble.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s Class 2A top 10:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Millwood, 4-0 (1)
2. Davis, 4-0 (2)
3. OCS, 3-1 (3)
4. Vian, 4-0 (4)
5. Hennessey, 3-1 (5)
6. Commerce, 4-0 (6)
7. Stroud, 3-1 (7)
8. Nowata, 4-0 (8)
9. Adair, 3-1 (9)
10. Washington, 3-1 (10)
Dropped out: None
