We’ve reached the midpoint of the season, and this week’s games were highlighted by some dramatic performances across the Oklahoma City area.
And now fans can vote for the one they feel was the best.
The Oklahoman’s Fans’ Choice City-Area High School Football Player of the Weekfan poll is live.
Pick one of the selections from the poll below, or write in your own candidate in the comments section, where you can tell us why your choice deserves Player of the Week honors.
Voting ends at 4 p.m. Tuesday and the results of the poll will appear in Wednesday’s Oklahoman.
Here are the candidates:
William Arndt, Hennessey: Rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns, while also scoring the game-winning two-point conversion to lift the Eagles 21-20 against Chisholm.
Sanardo Ballard, Crooked Oak: Had a receiving touchdown, threw for one and scored the tying two-point conversion to force overtime, but it was his leg that propelled the Ruf-Nex in triple overtime against Luther when he made the game-winning extra point after struggling to make a PAT in his fill-in role.
Cameron Batson, Millwood: Accounted for five touchdowns — two passing, one rushing, one punt return and one interception return — in the Falcons’ 53-0 shutout of Christian Heritage.
Kaedyn Fuller, Putnam City North: Receiver had two touchdown receptions and recovered Moore’s onside kick attempt to seal the Panthers’ first victory of the season, a 31-23 win against Moore.
John Kolar, Norman North: Normally a wide receiver, Kolar filled in for injured Alabama commitment David Cornwell, leading Norman North to points on its final three possessions for a dramatic 45-42 victory. He completed 9 of 13 passes for 162 yards and a TD.
Kourtney Williams, Edmond Memorial: Forced two fumbles, returning one for a 23-yard touchdown, during the Bulldogs’ 38-14 rout of Norman.
