Sooners pick up basketball commitment

by Ryan Aber Published: October 6, 2013

Oklahoma’s big recruiting weekend paid off Sunday morning.

The Sooners first commitment from the group of uncommitted visitors didn’t come from the football visitors, though.

Center Jamuni McNeace of Allen, Texas, committed to the Sooners on Sunday morning, announcing his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-10 McNeace had offers from Utah, Louisiana Tech and North Texas among others.

McNeace is the first 2014 commit for the Sooners.

McNeace is teammates with a pair of Oklahoma football commits–linebacker Tay Evans of the 2014 class and offensive lineman Bobby Evans of the 2015 class.
