Oklahoma State stays put in Coaches poll, drops one spot in AP poll

Oklahoma State’s closer-than-expected home victory Saturday did not do much to impress poll voters.

The Cowboys, which needed a late rally and some key defensive plays to beat Kansas State 33-29 at Boone Pickens Stadium, remained at the No. 20 spot in the Coaches poll and dropped one spot, from No. 21 to No. 22, in the AP poll.

OSU is idle this week before facing TCU at home on Oct. 19.

Oklahoma remains the Big 12’s highest-ranked team at No. 10 in the Coaches poll and No. 12 in the AP poll. Baylor (No. 15 in both polls) and Texas Tech (No. 21 Coaches, No. 20 in AP) are also ranked.

The top 9 of both polls is now identical. Alabama and Oregon hold the top two spots, followed by Clemson, Ohio State, Stanford, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville and Texas A&M. LSU is ranked tenth in the AP poll.
