NORMAN — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops announced that senior linebacker Corey Nelson will likely miss the rest of the season with a partially torn pectoral muscle.

Nelson suffered the injury in the second half of Saturday's 20-17 home win over TCU.

In a news release, Stoops said Nelson will undergo surgery Tuesday that will probably end his senior season.

The Dallas native and team captain has recorded 27 tackles, four pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and a sack through the first five games of this season. He also returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown in the Sooners' 35-21 win at Notre Dame two weeks ago.
