Fed up on the prairie: 11 rural counties to vote in November on seceding from Colorado Published: October 7, 2013

CHEYENNE WELLS, Colo. — The Old West has decided it is fed up with the New West, reports the New York Times.

“I would’ve never believed the state of Colorado would become this liberal,” said Lyle Miller, who owns the convenience store. “I’m afraid for my grandchildren. I want them to have the same heritage I had.”

In November, 11 rural counties will hold a vote on whether to secede from the state and work to form their own — or maybe join Wyoming.
