Oklahoma football: OU-Texas is tame compared to Nike's new Pro Bowl uniforms

In the wake of the OU-UT uniform golden awesomeness, Nike is continuing to raise the uniform bar this week.

After two years of relatively tame offerings in the pros, Nike is going to give the NFL’s annual all-star game a collegiate feel with these day-glo dandies: The Elite 51 Pro Bowl series.

The traditional red for AFC and blue for NFC color schemes have been dumped for something closer to the alternate jerseys of Oregon or Oklahoma State. Along with the format of the game going from conference vs. conference to a playground pick-em, featuring Hall of Fame captains (Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders), changing the uniforms couldn’t hurt to ramp up interest. The Pro Bowl has traditionally been the most farcical of the professional all-star games, so why not liven it up a bit with some fresh ideas and fresh swag?

The color choices make Monday’s OU-UT uniform bonanza look tame.
