The winners of four broadcasting scholarships were announced by OETA-The Oklahoma Network during the recent Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association Seminar.
Details, provided by OETA, are as follows:
Chelsay Adams of Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Tonico Figueroa of the University of Central Oklahoma were named the inaugural recipients of a $1,000 William “Bill” Thrash Scholarship, named after OETA’s longtime station manager who passed away in July. Jonathan Polasek of Oklahoma Baptist University and Madeline Stebbins of the University of Oklahoma each received a $1,000 Gene Dillehay Scholarship. Dillehay was the voice of OETA for 18 years.
More than 100 students and faculty members from 16 universities and colleges across the state attended the annual seminar held at OETA’s Oklahoma City headquarters. The seminar featured various media personalities and innovators from Norman, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
