Guide to Choctaw at No. 9 Edmond Memorial

by Jacob Unruh Modified: October 17, 2013 at 11:10 am •  Published: October 17, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Thursday

Where: Wantland Stadium, UCO

Records: Choctaw 3-3, 1-2 District 6A-4; Edmond Memorial 4-2, 2-1

Last week: Norman 49, Choctaw 31; Edmond Memorial 24, Mustang 21, 2OT

Players to watch: Choctaw — Jacob McMullen, kicker. The senior hit a 57-yard field goal during last week’s loss to Norman. He is now 6 of 11 this season.

Edmond Memorial — Waylon Anderson, WR. Anderson is another version of speedy running back Warren Wand for the Bulldogs. He looks nearly identical in size and speed on the field, rushing for one touchdown and catching four.

Storylines: Choctaw — Last week’s loss for Choctaw put a dent into its playoff aspirations. Dealing with a hot Memorial team that is becoming stout on defense will be a tough challenge.

Edmond Memorial — Last week’s double-overtime win marked the first winning streak of the season for the Bulldogs, and they did it with some timely offense and a strong defense. It’s a recipe they will look to use the rest of the way.

The pick: Edmond Memorial 28, Choctaw 21
