Guide to No. 4 Edmond Santa Fe at No. 6 Lawton

by Jacob Unruh Modified: October 18, 2013 at 11:10 am •  Published: October 18, 2013

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Cameron Stadium, Lawton

Records: Edmond Santa Fe 5-1, 3-0 District 6A-4; Lawton 6-0, 3-0

Last week: Edmond Santa Fe 57, Putnam City West 20; Lawton 50, Southmoore 13

Players to watch: Edmond Santa Fe — Justice Hansen, QB. This will be Hansen’s biggest test to date since his return from a hamstring issue that forced him to miss Week 1. Lawton is big, fast and playing extremely well right now. His mobility is likely to become a huge factor.

Lawton — Michael Warren, RB. Warren has exploded out of nowhere for the Wolverines, rushing for more than 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns through six weeks. Last week alone he rushed for 282 yards and two touchdowns in the Wolverines’ rout of Southmoore.

Storylines: Edmond Santa Fe — Slow down Warren. Seems like an obvious key for the Wolves, but it isn’t that simple slowing him down. The Wolverines have a huge offensive line, anchored by junior Jalin Barnett.

Lawton — Limit the damage Hansen dishes out. He has been nearly unstoppable this season and can easily carry the Wolves to victory. His mobility will test the Wolverines by opening up passing lanes or breaking loose for big gains.

The pick: Lawton 44, Edmond Santa Fe 41
