Fan poll: Vote for the Fans' Choice City-Area Football Player of the Week

Some district scenarios are staking to shake out after Week 7’s games, and there were some big performances across the Oklahoma City area.

And now fans can vote for the one they feel was the best.

The Fans’ Choice City-Area Football Player of the Week poll is live online.

Pick one of the selections from the poll below, or write in your own candidate in the comments section, where you can tell us why your choice deserves Player of the Week honors.

Voting ends at 4 p.m. Tuesday and the results of the poll will appear in Wednesday’s Oklahoman.

Here are the candidates:

Darrius Burris, Piedmont: Rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns, including a 64-yarder that sealed the 45-19 upset of Clinton.

John Kolar, Norman North: Quarterback threw for 326 yards and accounted for three touchdowns in the Timberwolves’ 42-35 win against Edmond North.

Kyle Hokett, Lexington: Junior quarterback threw five TDs, including a 63-yard strike, and completed 15 of 21 passes for 319 yards in Lexington’s 50-16 win against Coalgate.

John Jacobs, Shawnee: Dual-threat quarterback ran for three touchdowns and passed for one while totaling 333 yards to lift Shawnee to a crucial 42-10 victory against Tulsa Kelley.

Dunya Rice, Southmoore: Filling in at quarterback, Rice rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown while also opening the game with a 95-yard kick return TD to lead Southmoore to a big 33-30 victory against Norman.

Warren Wand, Edmond Memorial: Wand had his biggest game of the season, rushing for 279 yards and four TDs on 25 carries in the Bulldogs’ 33-3 rout of Choctaw.
