After an 0-3 start, the top 10 was probably the farthest thing from the minds of anyone in a Jones Longhorn jersey.

But having lost just once since then — that a 21-7 defeat to No. 1 Blanchard — the Longhorns have cracked the Class 3A top 10 in the 10th spot.

Jones started making its move up the rankings a few weeks back with an upset of Tuttle, which had been ranked much of the year. And the Horns sealed the deal with a 33-14 first-round playoff win over Cushing, which had been in the top five most of the season.

Otherwise, there were no changes in the top 10 of the 3A rankings, with all seven undefeated teams remaining so.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s final Class 3A top 10 until after the season:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Blanchard, 10-0 (1)
2. Kingfisher, 11-0 (2)
3. Seminole, 11-0 (3)
4. Metro Christian, 11-0 (4)
5. Victory Christian, 11-0 (5)
6. Plainview, 11-0 (6)
7. Locust Grove, 11-0 (7)
8. Hilldale, 9-2 (8)
9. Checotah, 10-1 (9)
10. Jones, 7-4 (NR)
Dropped out: Cushing, 8-3 (10)
