VIDEO: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook engage in heated conversation with Atlanta fan

by Anthony Slater Published: December 10, 2013

As is common, particularly in bigger cities where stars sit courtside, Kevin Durant sauntered over toward the sidelines at the end of Tuesday’s game in Atlanta.

Maybe he was going to talk to 2 Chainz, a famous rapper who was in attendance. Or possibly Durant, the NFL fan he is, was going over to pay respect to Kordell Stewart, the former Steelers quarterback who was also spotted at the arena on Tuesday.

Nope and nope.

BOX SCORE: THUNDER 101, HAWKS 92

As it became clear moments after Durant reached the sideline, he was searching out a particular fan who seemed to be annoying both him and some of his teammates throughout the game.

Check the video above, which includes three other Thunder players — Kendrick Perkins, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka — coming over and Westbrook eventually having to be led away.

It was a bit of a strange scene and, fortunately, didn’t escalate beyond that.

In the postgame locker room, here’s what a few of the Thunder players had to say about the altercation:

-Kevin Durant, in a clear sarcastic tone: “He really respected how we played the game. He just wanted to tell all of us one-by-one.”

-Russell Westbrook, when asked if the fan was chirping at him: “Yeah, yeah, yeah”

-Kendrick Perkins on the fan: “Sometimes they can get a little disrespectful”
