Sophomore forward Ryan Spangler showed little effects of a recent calf injury in Oklahoma's 91-89 win over UT Arlington on Tuesday.

Spangler had 16 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes three days after suffering the injury in Saturday's win over Tulsa.

He missed the second half of that game with the injury and was held out of the contact portion of Monday's practice as a precautionary measure.

Sooners coach Lon Kruger said Spangler's play was unaffected by the injury, though he still had his leg wrapped.

“I don't think it was,” Kruger said. “He said it wasn't. He responded very quickly. If you'd asked me after the game on Saturday, I probably wouldn't have expected him to play tonight.”

WOODARD WINS HONOR

Sooners freshman point guard Jordan Woodard was named the Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week.
