The Tulsa World reports that a Tulsa woman is in custody Monday on allegations that she severely beat a 15-year-old boy with an extension cord.

While the boy was at school Friday, he told school authorities that his mother, Shanetta Williams, 40, hit him multiple times with an extension cord, which left marks deep enough to make him bleed through his pants during class, police said.

At the school, officers took photos of what they described as “horrific injuries” and then took the boy into protective custody.
