FOR HANNAH AND STUART
Party: Jane Jayroe Gamble and Gerald Gamble were hosts for a couple’s engagement party honoring their grandniece, Hannah Colclazier, and Stuart Hudson. The couple met in Washington, D.C., when they were interns in Rep. Dan Boren’s office. Stuart is finishing law school at Georgetown and Hannah is a professional photographer. He was on spring break. The wedding is set for August in California.
Party tables: Tables were decorated with black and white chargers and black and white cloths. Vases were filled with white and green roses, tulips, hydrangeas and tied with green and white ribbons. After the pasta buffet, a special dessert was provided by Hannah’s grandmother, Judy Elmore, with pecans from the Gamble’s backyard. The group had cocktails outside and then came inside for a seated dinner.
Parents: Parents of the engaged couple are Cece and Jace Wieser , Amie and Jerry Colclazier and Leslie and Cliff Hudson.
Guests: Among the people at the party were Dita and Daxx Wieser, Elizabeth and Jared Burden, Connie and Jim McGoodwin, Debbie and Bob Blackburn, Tricia, Molly and George Burner, Jacqui and Cade Elmore, Judy and Frank Elmore, Katie and Connor Colclazier, Cece and Jace Wieser and Amie and Jerry Colclazier.
56th BYLINERS AWARDS DINNER
Dinner: Members of the Association for Women in Communication honored seven women at the annual Byliners Awards Dinner at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel. They were chosen for their significant contributions to the community.
Honorees: Sarah Sears, business; Amanda Taylor, child advocacy; Karen Wicker, communication; Mary Blankenship Pointer, community service; Leslie Batchelor, economic development; Deby Snodgrass, public service, and Kathy Williams, volunteerism.
Committee: Chairmen were Tina Evans and Jamie Potter. Committee members included Erin Engelke, Catherine Page-Creppon, Nadine Ciejek-Reim, Emily Ward, Stacia Morrison, Billie Rodely, Brooke Haneborg, Natalie Fix, and Kristin Van Nort. (Ret.) Gen. Rita Aragon was master of ceremonies.
Theme: Red, a color used in the AWC signature logo, was the theme for the evening and red heart and red freedom roses were used in the centerpieces.
Seen: Among the people at the event were Denise Northrup, Terry Neese, Sue Hale, Bobbie Burbridge Lane, Reta Strubhar, Patricia McGuigan, Linda Haneborg, Polly Nichols, Kay Goebel and Andy Reiger.
Occasion: Olive Oil & Co. and co-founders Maggie Kite and Rane Peterson celebrated the first anniversary of the company at their store.
Food/flowers: Champagne was served along with hors d’oeuvres showcasing the fresh Northern Hemisphere olive harvest of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). Hydrangeas and orchids were set throughout the store.
Evoo: The olives were crushed for their oils last year between October and November. They were from Spain and California, and names of the five oils are Melgarejo, Organic Picual, Organic Koroneiki, Arbequina and Melgarejo Hojiblanca. The owners also introduced their new fused rosemary olive oil at the party. They noted the difference between fused and infused oils: the rosemary was crushed with olives at the time of crush and with the infused oil, flavors were added after the olives were crushed.
Entertainment: The Charles Scot Duo entertained the crowd, which included Sherry Furseth, Melisssa Burget, Emily and Jeff Blake, Amy Lambert and Brock Harrison.
