NewsOK Sports 10:42 a.m. Thanks for joining the Power Lunch chat. Ryan Aber will be on in about 20 minutes to talk OU sports, including the latest with Joe Mixon.

If you have questions, send them in and we'll get started at 11 a.m.

And yes, "your comment is awaiting moderation."
Ryan Aber 11:00 a.m. All right, it's 11 a.m. and time to get this thing underway. Keep the questions coming
Neal Jones KCTV5 11:00 a.m. What is the status of the Norman police investigation into the alleged assault involving Joe Mixson?
Ryan Aber 11:01 a.m. The investigation is still underway. The district attorney's office told our Jason Kersey not long ago that no charges were expected to be filed today relating to the incident. So it appears this will drag at least into mid-week, probably further.
Raymond 11:02 a.m. We don't need guys like Mixon on the team. I always thought he seemed like a head case just based on his Twitter crap. Seems to me Samaje Perine is better anyway.
Ryan Aber 11:04 a.m. Mixon is a big-time talent, there's no doubt about that. I didn't see anything wrong with his twitter personality, especially compared with other people his age. That said, I think very highly of Perine and so do OU coaches (as I wrote today).
Paula 11:04 a.m. Seems to me like the FINE writers at NEWSOK have already CONVICTED Mr. Mixon. How about we let the legal process play out before we starting throwing stones????
Ryan Aber 11:05 a.m. I'd be interested to hear why you felt this way. We've reported what is going on, talked to people on both sides of this thing and never said this was anything more than allegations at this point.
Antwone 11:06 a.m. Whether he hit her or not, he shouldn't have been out at 2:30 in the morning anyway. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE KIDS?????
Ryan Aber 11:08 a.m. Hard to argue with this, though a just-turned 18-year-old kid away from home for the first time, there's going to be an adjustment period. I thought it was interesting what former OU TE Trent Smith told Berry Tramel the other day—that going out until all hours was largely a pursuit for the young. The juniors and seniors stayed home and to themselves more.
Carter 11:08 a.m. I say suspend him for this season, redshirt him and get him into some counseling or something. If we're gonna give Mizzou castaways a second chance, why not give our own guys a second chance?
Ryan Aber 11:10 a.m. It depends on the severity of the charge, if there are any, the video if it's made public, etc. There's a chance this is something he couldn't recover from in Norman. There's also a chance that he takes the year as a redshirt, gets things together, and things are fine. Bob Stoops has a history of not reflexively dismissing players but also not letting them run amok. If he did do something that involved battery on a woman, though, it would be hard to keep him around with the Frank Shannon and DGB stuff still going on. It's perception as much as anything.
cowboy orange 11:11 a.m. find it interesting that NEWSOK tried to hide the reports on the osu player devon Thomas being kicked off the team but when an ou player might be in trouble its front page news. Maybe stoops needs to pull a mike gundy. Or better yet maybe ou needs to hire the osu pr people who the NEwsok people seem to love
Ryan Aber 11:13 a.m. How so? The media relations people, in either case, are involved in our end very little. They're treated the same, though the Devon Thomas case happened in Tulsa so the World handled much of the news issues with that case.
Omar 11:13 a.
