Trump to attend fundraiser in Norman during OU-Ohio State game
WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump is scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Norman on Sept. 17 near the University of Oklahoma campus, where OU will be playing Ohio State University.
Gov. Mary Fallin and Oklahoma energy executives are among the hosts for the fundraiser, which has a minimum price of $1,000 per person and a $50,000 price tag for event chairs.
An address isn't given for the event, but the invitation says that it is within walking distance of the OU campus.
Oklahoma City oilmen Harold Hamm and Robert Hefner IV are among the event chairs. Kelly and Joe Craft, of Alliance Coal, of Tulsa, are also listed, along with David Green, the founder of Hobby Lobby.
The invitation urges people to "allow for extended travel time" because of the game.
Trump's visit would have to be seen as a money stop only since Oklahoma is reliably red. It was not known Friday morning whether Trump will schedule any public events or attend the game.
An OU spokesman told The Oklahoman on Thursday night that the university had not received official confirmation of Trump's visit.
