Couples, Love enter Phoenix Open

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Fred Couples and 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III have committed to play in the Phoenix Open next week at TPC Scottsdale.

Paul Goydos and Fredrik Jacobson also entered the tournament Friday.

Masters champion Phil Mickelson, the former Arizona State star who won at TPC Scottsdale in 1996 and 2005, tops the 132-player field that includes 17 of the top 30 on the 2010 money list. Mickelson is sixth in the world ranking.

Three-time Phoenix winner Mark Calcavecchia also is entered along with Dustin Johnson, Geoff Ogilvy, J.B. Holmes, Hunter Mahan, Robert Allenby, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar, Anthony Kim, Vijay Singh, Y.E. Yang, Camilo Villegas, Bill Haas, Trevor Immelman and 2011 tour winners Jonathan Byrd, Mark Wilson and Jhonattan Vegas.

The tournament is sponsored by Waste Management.
