Retired Air Force general to discuss energy policy
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — A retired four-star Air Force general says the United States' reliance on fossil fuels for energy is a threat to national security.
Gen. Ronald E. Keys will discuss U.S. energy policy and its impact on the economy and security at a lecture at Purdue University's Stewart Center on April 19. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Purdue Energy Center Director Maureen McCann says Keys' talk will focus on diversifying energy sources, clean energy and using energy more efficiently.
Keys is a member of the Center for Naval Analyses' Military Advisory Board, a panel of retired admirals and generals who study issues critical to national security. He retired from the Air Force in 2008 after 40 years of service.
