Boyfriend guilty but mentally ill of murder

The judge convicted 24-year-old Daniel Baker of first-degree murder on Monday. He faces 20 years to life in prison. Prosecutors say Baker will receive treatment for mental issues while he is imprisoned. The ruling came after a seven-day trial. His defense attorneys had said he was insane at the time of 50-year-old Marina Aksman's death.

Police say Aksman wanted to end Baker's relationship with her 20-year-old daughter, Kristina. Authorities say he forced his way into Aksman's Vernon Hills home and killed the woman. He then fled with Kristina. He was arrested days later in Montana.
