GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Furman has scheduled its first-ever meeting with a Big Ten Conference team with a trip to Michigan State in 2016.
Athletic director Gary Clark announced the game Tuesday. The addition gives Furman a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent in each of the next four seasons. The Paladins play LSU in 2013, South Carolina in 2014 and Virginia Tech in 2015.
Furman lost a 41-7 decision to Clemson earlier this season.
The Michigan State game is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2016, at Spartan Stadium. Clark said the football looks forward to the challenge of playing the Spartans.
