BALTIMORE (AP) — A new hospital-based domestic violence program is being launched.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger are scheduled to attend an event to talk about the program in Baltimore on Friday.

Health care representatives and domestic violence advocates also are scheduled to attend the event at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

The GBMC program will be Maryland's seventh hospital-based domestic violence program designed to meet the goals of an initiative that aims to expand domestic violence services at health care facilities across the state through screening hospital patients, training health care staff and providing resources to victims of domestic abuse.
