Missouri recently made the final payment on a $600 million bond issuance authorized by voters in 1982. With principle and interest, the final bill came to $1.25 billion. Here is a look at some of the larger projects financed by the bonds. Not included on this list are numerous smaller-dollar repairs and improvements.

Construction of the Western Missouri Correction Center, $44 million

Improvements to various state buildings, $43.4 million

Soil and water conservation projects, $20.9 million

Construction of science building at University of Missouri-St. Louis, $19.1 million.

New mineral engineering and management building at Missouri University of Science and Technology, $17.9 million

Expansion and renovation of Pickler Library at Truman State University, $12.3 million

Rural sewer and water system grants, $12.1 million

Maintenance and repairs at various higher education institutions, $11.3 million

Park improvements, $10.4 million

Maintenance and repair at Missouri University of Science and Technology, $10.2 million

Maintenance and repair at facilities in the Department of Mental Health, $9 million

Addition to the Biggs Forensic Center at Fulton State Hospital, $6.7 million

New business building at Missouri State University, $6.5 million

Construction of law school building at University of Missouri-Columbia, $6 million

Storm water control grants, $5.8 million

Construction of business and public administration building at University of Missouri-Kansas City, $5.5 million
