MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The NBA has named Lionel Hollins as the Western Conference coach of the month through November for guiding the Grizzlies to the league's best start at 12-2.
The league announced the honor Monday. The Grizzlies posted an .857 winning percentage through November and grabbed the NBA's best record for the first time in franchise history. They went 12-1 in November alone for the highest winning percentage in a calendar month in franchise history in notching the team's most victories ever for the first month in a season.
Hollins also won coach of the month honors in December 2009 and April 2012.
The coach has the Grizzlies leading the NBA in points allowed with 90.1 and points off turnovers (22.1) through the first month.
