Md. inmates launder bras for cancer awareness
SYKESVILLE, Md. (AP) — Maryland state prison inmates in Sykesville are taking part in a breast cancer awareness campaign.
On Thursday, they're washing 17,000 bras that were donated to an annual fundraiser run by Frederick radio station WFRE-FM.

Inmates look on as bras being laundered as part of a breast cancer awareness campaign fall out of a washing machine at Central Maryland Correctional Facility in Sykesville, Md., Thursday, Dec.13, 2012. Nearly 10,000 bras were expected to be laundered by the inmates after they were collected by a radio station in Frederick, Md. One dollar for each bra was donated to breast cancer research, and the cleaned bras were expected to be donated to local women's shelters.
