TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) — Squaw Valley USA says two skiers were treated for non-life threatening injuries when they were caught in an avalanche.

The slide happened just before 10 a.m. Sunday. Resort officials say neither skier was buried by snow, adding that members of the ski patrol were on the scene within a minute.

A 39-year-old woman was treated and released from a Squaw Valley medical clinic.

A second skier, a 16-year-old boy, was treated for a shoulder injury and taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee.

Squaw Valley says more than 100 staff and volunteers did a thorough search of the area to confirm no one else was caught in the slide

Avalanche rescue dogs were also used.
